Picked up a falafel laffa and chicken schwarma with falafel & rice late on a busy Friday night. Falafel was good - not the best, but still pretty damn good. Chicken shawarma was very very good. Everything was seasoned perfectly and the rice was great. The ladies behind the counter were lovely, efficient, and a pleasure to deal with.
Would definitely go back. -

Was really looking forward to eating here. But unfortunately I never received my food. Couple buddies and I waited over 45 minutes for our food that we couldn't stay any longer. As we walked up upset, the waitress who took our order greeted us goodnight... we were so confused like you never even brought us our food or check. In my opinion that was extremely clueless of her. Horrible customer service. Never going here again just because of that.
P.S. it wasn't even that crazy busy either to have taken so long. And we only ordered shawarmas. That does not take almost an hour. -

A full table brings tears to my eyes and that's exactly how I felt at Zyara. Loved the beautiful setting of their restaurant and the backyard. The owner is a sweetheart. He invited me over and showed me how he prepares each dish.
I had the following and loved it:
Mixed grill with french fries & coleslaw
BBQ chicken with Turkish eggplant & Tahini salad
Yogurt & cucumber salad -

Zyara is an awesome dinner option to check out in Astoria. The ambiance, food and decorations are on point. There is a patio/ courtyard in the back with a fountain and some TVs and beautiful decor. They are open late and the staff is really attentive and nice at all times.
Upon getting our table we were offered some bread and dips as a courtesy while we ordered which was a really nice gesture.
I ordered a shawarma sandwich which was delicious and in a very generous portion and came with some french fries that were outstanding.
Be warned: They do not serve alcoholic drinks, or at least they didn't have any the night that I was there, so don't order the beer, it is alcohol free! -

Really like this food. They were very clean. Took a minute to get the check but it's okay probably was busy. Outside seating was nice and had a fountain in the middle. Food was well seasoned. Astoria is becoming less busy but I will be coming back for this shawarma. Mint lemonade and fresh orange juice was delicious.
The falafel balls were so crunchy.
